The Partners

Patten-Babcock & Associates has its roots dating back to 1988 when Kelly Patten began his legal recruiting career in Orange County, California. Mark Plihcik joined Kelly in the fall of 2002. Now a firm with over 20 years of combined experience in the field, our continued success and growth can be attributed directly to the quality of the law firms, corporate clients, and attorneys we represent.

Our Goals

The emergence of high technology companies as well as the growth of more traditional law firm clients in these areas has created a tremendous demand for highly qualified attroneys. In turn, the demand has created a competitive environment unlike any we've ever seen in this profession. Assisting a select number of law firms and corporate clients allows us to maintain trust and integrity while best serving the needs of our clients and candidates. In order to maintain our integrity, we will never recruit from a client who has retained our services.

Our clients recognize that they must also have the resources necessary to retain their attorneys. As such, we spend considerable time with our clients counseling them on how to meet and maintain their retention goal.
